What is Cybersecurity?

Imagine that a storm is coming…

Cybersecurity is like getting prepared for an upcoming storm. Just like you would take steps to protect your home from a natural disaster, organizations take steps to make sure they have the tools and training to quickly respond to outside threats.

Cybersecurity -> “The practice of ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information by protecting networks, devices, people and data from unauthorised access or criminal exploitation.”

Threat Actors -> “Any person or group who presents a security risk.”

Personally Identifiable Information -> “Any information used to infer an individual’s identity.”

Benefits of Security

  • Protection against any external threat (eg: someone outside the organization trying to gain unauthorised access to private information, networks or devices) or internal threat (eg: current or former employees, external vendor, trusted partners).
